The best ticket for you depends on how often you travel and your own, personal preferences.
Bus from Eindhoven Airport to Railwaystation Eindhoven
At Airport Eindhoven tickets can be bought at the vending machines and the service point. There are 2 vending machines at the busstop and 1 vending machine at the baggage claim area.
Buy your tickets in advance
You can simply buy a mobile ticket in advance on your smartphone via the Hermes webshop. Payment is easy by debit or credit card and there’s no need to print the ticket: simply activate your ticket on your mobile phone before and check-in and out by scanning the barcode at the terminal located at the bus driver.
OV-chipkaart (public transport chip card)
The OV-chipkaart is a payment method for public transport in the Netherlands. With the OV-chipkaart, you can check in and out on buses, trains, trams and the metro. It does not matter where you purchased the OV-chipkaart. There are several types of OV-chipkaart, fares and season tickets. Make sure your card has sufficient credit to pay for your journey.
Do you travel often by public transport? And would you like to travel using a season ticket or at a discount? Then you should choose a personal OV-chipkaart. The card costs € 7.50 and is valid for 5 years.
Benefits
- Automatic age discount of 34% for children aged 4-11 and senior citizens (65+)
- In Brabant, young people aged 12-18 also receive a 34% age discount on Arrvia and Hermes buses
- Rechargeable in various ways, including automatically
- In case of theft or loss, your card can be blocked, while saving your balance and any travel products already loaded
- Online overview of your travel history and transactions (convenient for expense claims)
- Purchase a personal OV-chipkaart online via OV-chipkaart.nl
The anonymous OV-chipkaart is for travelers who only wish to travel ‘prepaid’ (without a season ticket or age discount, for example). It may be more convenient to choose this card if you wish to lend out your OV-chipkaart. The suggested retail price of an anonymous OV-chipkaart is €7.50 and the card is valid for 4 to 5 years.
Benefits
- Can be used by more than one person (not at the same time)
- Can be purchased at any train station and other points of sale (supermarkets, tobacconists, etc.)
Visit OV-chipkaart.nl to find a sales point close to you.
OVpay is the new way of checking in and out in public transport in the Netherlands. This new payment option makes life easier!
By using your bank card there is no need to purchase an OV-chipcard or single ride with our driver. The fare for your journey is the same as the full fare when traveling with your OV-chipkaart. The transaction appears on your bank statement the next day. You do not need to register in advance or download an app.
How does it work?
- You board the bus and check in by holding a contactless debit or credit card or a card on your phone in front of the card reader.
- When getting off, check out with the card you used to check in. The card reader will beep to confirm.
- Payment is automatic. The transaction will appear on your statement the next day, with the reference NLOV. The fare for your journey is the same as the standard fare when traveling with your OV-chipkaart.
- To see your journeys, go to the web tool and enter the 14 numbers and letters next to NLOV on your statement and the amount debited from your account. You will then see the journeys you made and the fares you paid.
